First of all, there are different ways to apply for a trademark, depending on the country where the trademark is to be registered. How to apply for a trademark overseas is roughly classified as follows.

Firstly, overseas trademark applications can be filed directly to the individual country that wants protection of trademark through a local patent attorney in each country. Since no overseas local patent attorneys' fees occur at the stage of application and registration, it is relatively inexpensive. The regulation is forced to notify the results of the examination within 18 months, and so it is possible to secure the right quickly.

In addition, after registration, a designated country can be added at any time (post-designation), and the name change, assignment registration, renewal etc. can be collectively filed through the International Bureau, and thus, trademark management is very easy.
